چکیده
This work broadens the understanding of previous interpretations from Late Triassic-Early-Middle Jurassic reds beds in northeastern Mexico Huizachal Group. Proposed bounding surfaces El Alamar, La Boca, and Joya formations are informal. The here assigned allostratigraphic hierarchies for genetic interpretations. continental provide no sea-level markers to tie marine base level, but these fluvial-alluvial environments produce various scales traceable scour surfaces. Upper Triassic-Middle sandstones were analyzed at ten localities. Sedimentary profiles details two facies associations main facies, which share 20 sedimentary lithofacies. documentation fluvial architecture considers structures paleocurrents sand bodies features five styles driving depositional system, including mixed debris flow braided river systems, gravelly or sandy meandering river, ephemeral sand-bed sheet-flood distal river. model provides greater detail more accurate stratigraphic correlation conditions under rocks deposited, as it allows identifying four major that can be tied processes amalgamation, aggradation, degradation, flooding. exercise estimates provisional regional tracts deposits with apparent impact by level. Amalgamation underneath laterally extensive sheets amalgamated channel-belt architectural elements, contacts underlying disconformable, locally angular unconformities. also include sediment-gravity flows deposited such channelized flows. Aggradation underlies binds volcaniclastic common mass wasting creep flows, well overland gullying over broad alluvial plains forming upward-coarsening sequences. It records rapid burial landscapes wasting, distinguishing typical valleys cut normal channel processes. Degradation incised confine channels floodplains, unconformably overly fining-upward Flooding marks sediment accumulation formed overbank low-energy environments.

Tetrapod Biostratigraphy and Biochronology across the Triassic-jurassic Boundary in Northeastern Arizona
Nonmarine fluvial, eolian and lacustrine strata of the Chinle and Glen Canyon groups in northeastern Arizona and adjacent areas preserve tetrapod body fossils and footprints that are one of the world’s most extensive tetrapod fossil records across the Triassic-Jurassic boundary. We organize these tetrapod fossils into five, time-successive biostratigraphic assemblages (in ascending order, Owl R...
متن کاملTriassic-jurassic Boundary on the Southern Margin of Tethys: Implications of Facies, Tectonics and Volcanism
The facies changes, tectonics and magmatism across the Triassic–Jurassic boundary in the southern Tethyan margin have been studied in Egypt, Sudan, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia and Jordan an unconformable contact is recognized between the Upper Triassic and Lower Jurassic rocks. This unconformity surface is marked by the truncation of the fluvial clastics of the uppermost Triassic b...
متن کاملApplication of glauconite and fossil palynomorphs in reconstructing the Liassic paleogeography just before the opening of the Gulf of Mexico (Part II)
In (Part I), it was stated that red beds, conglomerates and salt were considered azoic and problematic rocks, but Paleopalynology and Inorganic Geochemistry proved to be useful for placing them in time and space. In the early last century, in Mexican NE region, only three Mesozoic red bed units were differentiated, dated as Late Triassic to Late Jurassic. It was important stratigraphically to p...

متن کاملGeochemistry and origin of elements of Upper Triassic Olang coal deposits in northeastern Iran
The Olang area is a part of Gheshlagh-Olang synclinal, which is a member of eastern Alborz coal basin and is situated at a distance of70 km northeast of Shahroud city. Coal-bearing strata of this region are part of the Shemshak group (Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic).Samples from the 9 coal seams of the Olang coal deposits were collected and ashed. The aim of this study is to determine theoccu...
